In June 2023, YG-1 Seoun Plant was selected for the '2023 Smart Eco-Facility Construction Project' and signed a business agreement with the Korea Environment Corporation.

  The Smart Eco-Facility Construction Project aims to reduce pollutants, enhance energy and resource efficiency, and create a comprehensive, environmentally friendly model for manufacturing facilities. This includes greenhouse gas reduction and the introduction of intelligent facilities. The project supports companies with up to 1 billion won for facility construction investments, contributing to greenhouse gas reduction and other pollutant mitigation efforts. YG-1 Seoun Plant was chosen as a supported company for this initiative.

YG-1 Seoun Plant manufactures cutting tools such as end mills and drills. These products have extensive applications across various industries, including petroleum, shipbuilding, general machinery, automotive, semiconductor, electrical/electronics, aerospace, and medical devices. Due to the nature of manufacturing, the plant consumes a significant amount of electricity and emits pollutants such as oil mist during cutting processes.

Through the Smart Eco-Facility Construction Project, the plant will install an Oil Mist Collector to reduce atmospheric pollutants and introduce ICT for monitoring and controlling production processes at a glance, leading to decreased defect rates. Also, the project is expected to contribute to environmental improvement and increase corporate profits by recovering discarded raw materials for resource circulation.

Implementing the Smart Eco-Facility Construction Project will help YG-1 Seoun Plant become a pioneering leader in technological and environmental advancements in the industry.
